I'm not going to argue with you on this concept. Have you calculated all the stresses applied to the girdle? there is a lot more to think about the just tensile strength of the material. The yield strength coupled by the calculated stresses using Von Mises principle stress formula. once known, you can safely calculate the fatigue limitations of the chosen material to verify integrity.once again, have you simulated or have data showing the concept is viable without failure with the stresses involved? were not talking about an intake pipe here, this could cause a major catastrophic failure. Sorry again, but with out real Mechanical data and not some individuals best guess, you need to be very careful for your own sake on such a vital engine component.
